How Do Rolling Admissions Work for ABSN Programs?

With rolling admissions, a nursing school generally reviews completed applications throughout an admission period instead of evaluating every applicant after one fixed deadline. Decisions may be made as applications are reviewed.

However, rolling admission does not mean there is no deadline. An ABSN program may continue accepting applications only until a cohort is full or until a final cutoff date. Programs may also have separate admission periods for different start dates.

Applying earlier can therefore have advantages, especially for programs with limited cohort sizes. Before applying, check:

Whether seats are filled as applicants are admitted
When prerequisite courses must be completed
