Accelerated BSN programs can be expensive, but some public universities offer ABSN tuition well below the typical cost of a second bachelor’s nursing degree. We compared the ABSN programs in our database by estimated tuition to identify 25 of the cheapest options.
The programs below start at about $5,000 in estimated tuition, with many costing less than $15,000. Most of the lowest-cost options are offered by public universities, and tuition may depend on state residency.
Last reviewed: August 2026. Tuition, program length, GPA requirements, and application deadlines can change. Always confirm current costs and admission requirements with the nursing school before applying.

What Does a Low-Cost ABSN Program Cost?
The programs in this comparison have some of the lowest estimated tuition figures in our ABSN database. Several cost less than $10,000, while many of the 25 programs listed above have estimated tuition below $15,000.
Low advertised tuition does not always mean the lowest total cost. Public universities may charge higher tuition to out-of-state students. Students may also pay nursing program fees, textbooks, uniforms, supplies, background checks, testing fees, health requirements, transportation, and other expenses that are not included in the tuition figures above.
Program length also matters. An ABSN that costs slightly more but allows you to graduate several months earlier could make financial sense if it lets you enter the nursing workforce sooner.
Before choosing a program based on price, compare:
- Estimated tuition for your residency status
- Mandatory university and nursing program fees
- Program length and number of required credits
- Financial aid and scholarship eligibility
- Housing and transportation costs
- Whether clinical placements require significant travel
- Admission requirements and prerequisite courses
