Program Overview
A mastery-based path to RN licensure — Roseman’s signature “Block System” has students focus on one content area at a time and demonstrate 90% mastery before moving on — with the flexibility of two formats (on-campus or hybrid-online), two campuses across Nevada and Utah, and four start dates a year.
Roseman University offers an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) that can be completed in less than 18 months at its campuses in Henderson, Nevada (15 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip) and South Jordan, Utah (near Salt Lake City).
The program runs in two learning modalities:
- traditional on-campus or
- hybrid-online: lecture content delivered online, with clinical rotations, labs, and group work in person at Roseman campuses or affiliated facilities
What sets Roseman apart is its concept-based curriculum delivered through the Six-Point Mastery Learning Model and a “Block System”: students study one content area at a time without competing subjects, and must achieve 90% mastery in each block to progress (with remediation support to get there).
Roseman reports a 91.22% first-time NCLEX pass rate and 92.3% of graduates employed within six months, and the College of Nursing arranges clinical placements for students at partner healthcare facilities in Nevada and Utah.
Accreditation
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Roseman University of Health Sciences is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The College of Nursing in Henderson is approved by the Nevada State Board of Nursing, and the program in South Jordan is approved by the Utah State Board of Nursing.
Roseman University of Health Sciences is institutionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). Graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN.
Admission Requirements
The program admits cohorts in fall, spring, and summer through a competitive rolling admissions process (classes may fill before the published deadline).

Curriculum
The program uses Roseman’s concept-based curriculum integrated with the Six-Point Mastery Learning Model, emphasizing active, hands-on learning that connects classroom concepts with real-world practice while strengthening clinical judgment.
Curriculum features:
- Block System structure focusing on one content area at a time
- 90% mastery requirement for each block to progress, with remediation opportunities
- Integration of the Four Spheres of Care: disease prevention/health promotion, chronic disease care, restorative care, and hospice/palliative/supportive care
- Threaded concepts throughout: clinical judgment, communication, compassionate care, diversity/equity/inclusion, ethics, evidence-based care, health policy, and social determinants of health
Required Courses
NURS 321 – Professional Nursing and Health Care Concepts 1
Introduces the BSN role and core concepts that anchor safe, ethical care—clinical decision-making, informatics, law, disparities, professional identity, and safety. Emphasis is on applying these ideas to common exemplars in practice. (3 credits)
NURS 322 – Introduction to Health Concepts
Covers foundational pathophysiology behind key health concepts such as cellular regulation, perfusion, immunity, gas exchange, and tissue integrity. Builds a usable framework for linking mechanisms of disease to assessment findings. (6 credits; clinical clearance required)
NURS 323 – Health Assessment
Builds comprehensive, lifespan assessment skills across history, exam, and documentation while connecting findings to concepts like comfort, mobility, nutrition, and oxygenation. Includes guided simulation for skill rehearsal. (3 credits total: 2.5 didactic/0.5 sim)
NURS 323.1 – Health Assessment Clinical
Applies full head-to-toe assessment in diverse settings with faculty feedback on technique, prioritization, and communication. (0.6 clinical credits)
NURS 324 – Nursing Care Across the Lifespan 1
Translates concepts—health promotion, infection/inflammation, fluids/electrolytes, mobility, thermoregulation, sleep, and safety—into plan-of-care development. Simulation reinforces clinical judgment and skills. (6 credits total: 5 didactic/1 sim)
NURS 324.1 – Nursing Care Across the Lifespan 1 Clinical
Delivers evidence-based care across ages while strengthening prioritization and reasoning at the bedside. (1.8 clinical credits)

Schedules
On-campus: full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM for didactic components (skills lab assignments may require time after normal class hours).
Hybrid-online: didactic components delivered through synchronous and asynchronous online sessions, with assessments, group assignments, skills labs, and clinical rotations conducted in person; block length varies by credits and clinical requirements.
Clinical Experience
Clinical rotations are mandatory and arranged by the College of Nursing at Roseman campuses and affiliated healthcare facilities throughout Southern Nevada and Utah. Students must meet all clinical requirements—criminal background check via Complio, health insurance, immunizations and health documentation, and professional liability coverage—and clinical sites may impose additional requirements.
Students denied clinical placement due to background-check results cannot meet curriculum requirements and must withdraw.
